4 Interesting Places to Visit in Quezon City

Quezon City or also known as QC to many is the largest(in terms of land area) and the most populous city in the Philippines. QC got its name from the second Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon who founded the city and which replaced the City of Manila as the national capital for almost 3 decades.

Being a capital from 1948 to 1976 makes it a home for various Government offices like the Batasang Pambansa which is a home for the Philippine legislators and famous Quezon City Hotels like Summit Hotel Magnolia. Aside from the House of Representatives, QC also offers attractions that is exciting to go to.

Quezon City Memorial Circle

Located inside a large traffic circle, it features a tall mausoleum which contains the remains of President Manuel L. Quezon and his First Lady Aurora Quezon. Aside, from its mausoleum it is also serves as a park for tourists who wants to bike, picnic or dine because bike for rents and food stalls are rampant there.

Araneta Coliseum

Built in 1960, it is considered as one of the largest indoor facilities in Asia. It is a great venue for entertainment which stages boxing fights, sports, local and international concerts. It is considered the home of the PBA, the first professional basketball league in Asia.

La Mesa Eco Park

This 33-hectare park was created to protect and save La Mesa Dam which serves as the main source of clean drinking water in Metro Manila. According to the blog I’ve read, there are various activities that can be done inside the park. UP Sunken Garden

Found in the heart of the 2.2km UP Academic oval that is surrounded by big Acacia trees, UP Sunken Garden must be the second famous landmark in UP after the UP oblation as it gives you probably the greenest place in Quezon City.
